4TH ANNUAL GALA FUNDRAISER SET FOR SEPTEMBER 16, 2023

We Are All Stars benefits FAR

Cañon City, CO – July 18, 2022 – Summer festivals are a celebration of everything from whitewater to wine, and sandals and sun hats always seem to be the costume of choice. As summer turns to fall, however, the region’s premier black-tie event takes place at the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience. “We Are All Made of Stars” is a gala fundraiser for Fremont Adventure Recreation (FAR), that will be held on September 16th this year – and is poised to offer guests an elegant, entertaining, and unique experience.

“We are always excited to host this event,” says FAR Coordinator Ashlee Sack. “We host athletic events all year, so this is a change of pace for us.”

The evening begins at 6:30 pm with an arrival at the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience, where attendees will be treated to red-carpet photography by Ground2Air Productions as they enter the venue. The museum’s displays and Wild Walk will be available as guests are serenaded by a professional trio of classical musicians. Gourmet hors d’ oeuvres by Picnic Basket Catering are included in the ticket price, as are photo booth photos and an opportunity to view the night sky from a high-powered telescope. DJ’d music will be provided by SoCo DJ and Karaoke. A cash bar will serve featured award-winning wine from The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey, beer from Florence Brewing Company, and specialty craft cocktails.

“There are details at this event that you can’t get anywhere else,” says Maratta Characky, event planner for the evening. “The Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience is such a fun place to host a gala.” The museum, which features a 16,200 square-food facility complete with full-scale dinosaur fossil casts and animatronic dinosaurs, is only open to gala gusts on the night of the party but is open to regular guests throughout the week (see dinoxp.com for details).

The gala also features a silent auction, with curated items from local artists, jewelers, outfitters, and photographers. Proceeds from the auction and event benefit Fremont Adventure Recreation, which strives to provide outdoor recreation opportunities in Fremont County. The organization has been operating in the region since 2010.

Tickets to the event are limited and expected to sell out. More information on the event can be found at https://ccmadeofstars.weebly.com/ . Tickets are available for $75 per person or $140 per couple, and the event runs from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. A black-tie dress code will be strictly enforced. “It’s fun to see all of the hikers and mountain bikers wearing suits and floor-length gowns,” Sack says. “We all have different facets to our personalities, and this event exemplifies that.”
